A testimony of a young man that I am discipling.

I grew up in a Christian family, but it was not until I was 17 that I came to have a living faith in Jesus. Before that, I had given my life to Jesus at Christian camps, but in my everyday life, faith played no real role, and I was not actively involved in a church.

Then I attended a youth weekend retreat where there was also a missionary who inspired me, and during that weekend God drew me to Himself. From that point on, I began reading the Bible, and suddenly it came alive to me—it was no longer dead. I experienced the same thing during sermons. During that time, God began to speak to me for the first time in a real and personal way through His written and preached Word.

I spent a year attending a youth group, where I learned about the foundations of the Christian faith. Afterwards, during my studies, I attended another church, and I am now part of BERG Tübingen, and I have become more familiar with the Reformed faith.

I have a particular concern for evangelism because I spent the first six years of my life in West Africa, where my parents were serving as missionaries, and I still have memories of that time. So the subject of missions has been part of my life since childhood, and with God’s help, I am trying to speak with people more about Jesus.

This also includes the weekly evangelism I currently do with Jared, where we have had some good conversations and have the opportunity to be a witness for Christ in Tübingen.

God in action

A Persian Man

This past Friday, we headed out once again to share the gospel on the streets. We didn't have much time, as I needed to get home to prepare for our Men's Night, but the Lord made every moment count.

During our time out, we had a number of encouraging talks but this one was the most encouraging. We met a young Persian man who had fled the regime in Iran and is unable to return home. He shared that he considers himself agnostic but has recently begun reading the Bible. He then told us something remarkable.

Just the week before, he had cried out to God, saying, "If You are real, show Yourself to me." A few days later, he met us on the street. He said, "If this is not a sign, I don't know what is."

We had the privilege of sharing the gospel with him, answering some of his questions, and giving him a copy of "Gibt es Gott?"  (Is there a God?) We also invited him to join us at church.

Please pray that he would continue seeking the Lord, that God would reveal Himself through His word, and that we would have another opportunity to meet and encourage him in his journey to Christ.
